DK Engineering commenced the restoration of this 250 LM in Febuary 2009, the restoration was completed for the Silvertone Classic race meeting in July. The car has been campaigned twice at Goodwood and at Le Mans by James and Jeremy Cottingham and has been shown at Salon Prive, Brooklands and the FOC National Concours. A summary of the Cars history is below:

August 1964 Sold new trough Modern Classic Motors, Reno/Nevada to first owner William F Harrah of Zephyr Cove/NV/USA. Never raced.
April 1966 Sold by Tom W. Barrett III, Scottsdale/AZ, with 800 miles only for US$ 17,500.00 to Dr. Harold Isaacs, Jr., Beverly Hills/CA.
May 31, 1969 Isaacs achieved 2nd in the class of special interest cars at the renowned Pebble Beach Concours D'Elegance. (registered for road use as UTM 654) 1970 - Crashed by Isaacs leaving a concours event on the road! one side of the car was damaged and one fuel tank leaked. A passer-by smoking a cigarette ignited the fuel and the Ferrari was badly damaged in the fire. The insurance company declared the car an "insurance write off" and it was sold by them to car dealer Donald D. Simpson (9217 Highdale Street, Bellflower, CA 90706. (Chassis damage was minimal, engine damage did not extend beyond superficial, brakes suspension and steering were largely undamaged except rubber bushings and seals. A film was made when the car was partially dismantled.
1972 - Sold by Simpson to Ronald Kellogg, a tyre dealer, living in Whittier/CA.
Car was then sold in its entirety, less the engine (went into a GTO) and some minor items of bodywork and a damaged fuel tank. The buyers of the car were Chuck Betz and Fred Peters, the well known Californian Ferrari collectors, experts, and "hobby restorers".
1980 - Chuck Betz then sold 6045 and received payment for the car & Giorgio Schon of Torino imported car to Italy
1986 - Fulvio Visioli, Ferrari dealer in Cremono organised inspection of chassis frame by Florini Gaetano the then Director of the Technical Assistance Department of Ferrari SPA who determined the chassis was original
The chassis was then sent to the original manufacturer to make repairs. Repairs made 1987.
1988 - Paintstaking restoration initiated by Ulrich Guggisberg. Body built by Bachelli Villas of Bastiglia and mechanical work undertaken by Tony Franco of Maranello. Correct spec engine fitted. Restoration completed in 1991.
1995 - Car sold to collector in Japan.
1999 - Car purchased by Symolic Motor Company.
2000/2001 - Car raced in Ferrari of North America Historic Race Series.
June 2007 - Car purchased by the Cottingham family of DK Engineering.
Jan 2009 - Car carefully examined by Marcel Massini the world expert on 250LM's – car approved by Massini.
2010 – Car rebuilt/restored to period correct specification in readiness for IHSC cup and Goodwood Revival.
2011 –Raced at Le Mans - Original Engine reunited with car – Examined by Marcel Massini once again.
