DK Engineering cars steal the spotlight taking honours at the national concours event.
Held in the beautiful grounds of Walton Hall the 2010 Ferrari Owners Club Concours did not fail to impress. A fantastic turnout was enjoyed by all of the many competitors and spectators that turned out. DK again took the opportunity to attend the event with a variety of motor cars from Marenello’s past. Edward Carter’s immaculate blue medio 512BBi took a clear first place in the inter-area group competition having been prepared and detailed by DK. Similarly Phil Hylander’s recently restored 166 MM (chassis number 0314) was entered into the concours, this was the first outing for the car since it’s return from the Mille Miglia and arrived at the event unprepared having had a quick freshen up following its 1000 mile expedition. Following a brief 30 minunte detail and clean the car also finished first in the cherished class – a testament to the high lasting quality of DK Engineering’s restorations. Phil Hylander also brought his 250 SWB (Chassis number 2243). The car, although not entered in the concours, was in superb condition and subsequently won an award for patina. DK engineering also brought a rare 250 LM (chassis 6045) to the event for display which is currently nearing the completion of a full restoration in preparation for Silverstone Classic at the end of July. A 288 GTO and an F50 were also on display outside the house courtesy of DK Engineering.
