Salon Prive 2017

Salon Privé 2017 celebrated its 3rd year occupying the prestigious Blenheim Palace and reinforced its status as one of Europe's finest Concours events. Celebrating both Ferraris 70th anniversary as well as DK Engineering's 40th anniversary this year's event was an important opportunity to showcase the diverse selection of Ferraris that DK are so regularly associated with.

This year DK and their clients attended with no less than 14 different cars over the duration of the show, with 2 cars presented in the Chubb Insurance Concours d'Elégance and 13 cars appearing in the Tribute to 70 Years of Ferrari. After DKs success with Best of Show and Overall Winner in the DK restored Ferrari 500 TR at last year's event, DK again chose to showcase some exceptional examples this year, many of which have been lovingly restored or maintained by ourselves.

This year's events produced tremendous success and 14 trophies were awarded to cars supported or owned by DK Engineering, a huge achievement. Amongst the awards was the newly DK restored Ferrari 250 SWB California Spyder receiving "Best of Show Runner Up" second only to a unique Alfa Romeo 6C 3000 CM Pininfarina Superflow IV, a worthy winner. It also received the "La Dolce Vita Award" as well as "Riviera Cruising Winner" a genuine testament to the immaculate restoration of this truly exceptional motorcar.

For the Saturday Ferrari only concours, the Ex Walt Disney Ferrari 250 GT LWB Berlinetta 'Tour de France' #0585GT restored by DK and completed in early 2016 made its first show debut and won the "Owners Choice" award for the Ferrari Tribute, which is in essence best of show for that portion of the event. Last years "Best of Show" winner, the 500 TR made a return to Salon Privé and won "Outstanding 4 Cylinder", with DKs Ferrari F40 GT recently returned to its racing guise receiving "Outstanding 8 Cylinder". The "Outstanding 12 Cylinder" award being handed to the unique DK restored Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta, once again a restoration completed with an exacting pursuit of perfection. Finally on Sunday for, "Pirelli's Supercars at the Palace", the unique RHD CLK GTR that DK Engineering brought along on behalf of a client was awarded the 'people's choice' award.

This year's success extended further than trophies, as DK's own Acquisition Consultant Harvey Stanley was invited to judge at this year's event in both the "Supercar Pin-Ups" and "Sports Racers" classes, a task he completed with great pride.
