DK Engineering were proud to support our friends at Supercar Driver for their 10th anniversary birthday celebration at Donington Park Racetrack. Sponsored by Michelin tyres, their Secret Meet 2020 welcomed over 500 members and a host of some of the rarest cars in the world. The event saw 65 ‘unicorn cars’ including a one of forty Bugatti Divo, six Ferrari F50s with one in every standard colour available, a new McLaren Speedtail and everything from a Maserati MC12 GT1 to a Ferrari Laferrari.
We took two of the rarest and most desirable road cars ever built. Our McLaren F1, one of just 64 road cars built and the sole example built with a full Alcantara interior. Recently brought to the UK from South Africa, this fantastically original example was on display in our pit garage. We also took our CLK GTR, one of 20 homologated coupes and one of just two remaining cars to feature the Stirling Moss ‘300 SLR’ heritage plaid interior.
A number of track sessions throughout the day afforded us the opportunity to run our Dallara SP1, a 2005 Le Mans Prototype powered by a Judd V10. Both Max Girardo and James Cottingham jumped in the car to run alongside some Group C sportscars and heritage Formula 1 cars.
