The 250 GT Lusso is widely regarded as one of the most elegant and timeless designs by Pininfarina. Introduced in 1962 the 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso was Ferrari's latest intermediate model, a vehicle to bridge the gap between competition racers and luxuriously appointed 2+2 Coupe's. Just 351 examples were built between 1963 and late 64. Widely regarded as the epitome of the "La Dolce Vita" few cars can rival the effortless elegance and style of a 250 GT Lusso.
This LHD example was supplied in July 1964 to its first owner, a lady living in Rome, directly by the factory and was finished in the elegant colour combination we see it presented in today of Grigio Fumo with Nero interior.
Mrs Damasio, the first owner, had the car regularly maintained by the factory until 1971 when the car was deregistered as part of its sale and subsequently exported to the USA. The car remained in the USA until 2002 when it was brought back to Europe. In late 1987 the car had received a thorough restoration under the direction Lyle Tanner and the colour had been changed to Rosso Corsa on the exterior. Following this restoration the car found a new owner under whose ownership it would remain until 2002 when the car was purchased by a Swiss Gentleman and this Lusso then returned to Europe.
Between 2005 and 2006 the car was totally restored by the knowledgeable and well respected, "Sportgarage Bruno Wyss" in Switzerland. During that restoration the Rosso Corsa exterior colour was retained and it was sold to a new owner following completion of the project in 2008. This owner kept the car, but used it sparingly, until 2012 when it was sold again.
In 2015 with the car now part of a major UK based collection the decision was made to return the car to its correct, original and most appropriate Grigio Fumo which was executed, by DK, to a very high standard. Having covered very few miles since restoration, this 250 is presented in superb condition. In fact, DK carried out a very comprehensive service in late 2016 at a cost of approximately £10,000 ensuring that the car "wants for nothing". Supplied with Classiche Certification, full UK Registration, and an appropriate history file, this exceptional Lusso is located in our showrooms just outside London and is available to view immediately.
Please note, this vehicle is no longer for sale.
