Porsche 911 (997) Carrera GTS (2012)

By 2012 the 997 Variant of the 911 had become the most successful to date, to celebrate this Porsche decided to introduce the GTS, this was the first use of the GTS, which is now used by Porsche to denote the ultimate of any Model. The 997 GTS was designed to be the ultimate road-focussed 911. Whereas the GT3 and RS models were tailored to use on the track the GTS would be a "Best of Both Worlds". As standard the GTS model featured a power increase which would bring output to 408 BHP (more than a 991 Carrera S), which comes higher in the rev range and with 4.6% more torque. Additonally the GTS featured the wider track and shell of the four wheel drive C4S, 3MM wider at the rear, stiffer springs and anti-roll bars, sports exhaust, and wider rear tyres and (most importantly) optional Centre-Lock wheels from the GT3 RS.

Upon its launch the Limited Edition GTS was met with Rave Reviews, Autocar claimed the car was simply "Sublime - If you want an intoxicating blend of everyday usability, the throttle response of a naturally aspirated engine, communicative steering and enough performance to thrill you on any B-road, you shouldn't look past the GTS. It is quite possibly all the 911 you'll ever need"
The GTS was available in 4 wheel Drive or Rear Wheel Drive only, with a 6 speed manual transmission or Porsche's highly acclaimed 7 Speed PDK. For many a Rear wheel drive PDK GTS was the ultimate 911.
