Honda NSX (NA1) (1992)

To truly appreciate the impact of the first generation Honda NSX and why it made such a splash at launch, one must understand the context of Honda’s late 1980s production cars. Prelude and Integra apart, Honda was missing a car that truly demonstrated the prowess of the marque’s domination through engine supply in Formula 1.

A far cry from their hatchbacks of the time, when the NSX arrived on the scene it was endorsed by then three-time world champion Ayrton Senna. With Honda having sought to rival Ferrari’s 328, they created a car filled with technology whilst being more playful and nimble on the road. In a world before the extensive use of composites, the NSX ‘made do’ with extensive use of aluminium; from body panels to the jack in the toolkit.

Powered by a mid-mounted naturally aspirated V6, the second ever powerplant to be fitted with the now legendary VTEC system, the NSX further received an F16 fighter jet inspired cockpit.

This example was supplied new in 1992 in Japan where it would be used sparingly finding residence within a large collection. It would remain there until import into the UK in 2015. This NA1 NSX Coupe is optioned in Berlina Black over black leather, with the important manual gearbox and desirably without power steering. This example was further optioned with electric seats, electric windows, air conditioning and cruise control. It even retains its original Honda radio-cassette player!

Upon arrival in the UK, the car was treated to a major service including timing belts and had covered just 4,135 miles. In the years since, this example has since been serviced twice with marque specialists Cameron Sports Cars of Bath and used sparingly between.

Acquired by the present owner in May of 2023, this example was immediately treated to a major service including timing belts by Crown Honda. Since then the NSX has covered just 600 miles and today presents with just 5,360 miles from new. Residing within our secure storage facilities for the past year, this wonderful, low mileage example of Honda’s first generation NSX is available to view at our showrooms outside London immediately.
