Much like the F12 TdF above the standard F12, the 812 Competizione is the pumped-up, limited-run, bigger brother of the 812 Superfast. Power is increased over the 789bhp Superfast, to 819bhp in the Competizione. A technical and aerodynamical representation of the latest technology trickling down from the likes of Formula 1 and the XX Corse Clienti development program to the more humble road cars.
The 6.5 litre block is carried forwards, but the internals have been heavily fettled. New pistons, titanium con-rods are 40 per cent lighter and coupled with a rebalanced crank (three per cent lighter than before), new cylinder heads, F1-tech for the cams, a redesigned intake system (across manifold and plenum) and variable geometry inlet tract, the redline is elevated to 9,500rpm.
Extensive use of carbon fibre sees the Competizione lose 38 kg over the Superfast, all whilst delivering 30% more front downforce. Limited to just 999 examples, the 812 Competizione sold out completely ahead of launch.
This example was supplied new to its sole keeper in 2024. Ordered new through Ferrari's exclusive Tailor Made program, this 812 Competizione was optioned in the historical shade of Verde Pino to match several other existing prancing horses owned by this exacting client with the dedication plates specifically referencing Ferrari 275 #07797 and 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso 5031GT. The outside sees a wealth of details; brake calipers in Alluminio, airbrushed Scuderia shields and black centre caps.
The interior draws inspiration from the greatest Ferrari GT cars of the 1950s and 1960s. Pleated leather seat inserts honours those of the 250 GT Berlinetta Lusso and 275 GTB, the diamond-stitched sides of the transmission tunnel further referencing the respective competition variants. The leather detailing is extensive; the complete transmission tunnel top, rear bench wall, headlining, dashboard inserts, quilted boot floor, even down to the matching Connolly hide on the airvents.
The carbon fibre engine bay cover received all of the available signatures; the production team, chief design officer Flavio Manzoni as well both current Formula 1 drivers, Carlos Sainz Jr and Charles Leclerc. The bespoke Ferrari specification plate in the boot of the car features three separate columns of bespoke features for this wonderful build. Regardless of where you look, the details on this example shine. Evidence is clear of the meticulous attention to detail taken to complete this wonderful specification.
A change of geographical circumstance means that despite the owner waiting nearly three years to receive this example, it is now available to view at our showrooms by appointment. Accompanied by its original books and Serie Speciale Classiche binder, this 812 Competitzione presents superbly with just 900 miles from new at our showrooms outside London.
