Whilst it would be easy to look at the DBS as a DB9 with a bodykit, the DBS replaced the Vanquish as the halo model for the marque, and is a greatly evolved and improved offering. Extensive use of carbon fibre adds a menacing twist to the otherwise elegant form. The bonnet, bootlid, wings and doors are made from carbon fibre save 30kg with a further 12.5kg saved from the introduction of carbon fibre brakes as standard. Weight savings totalled 65kg with a wealth of other materials reworked and lightened in the process.
The 6.0-litre V12 is reworked too; larger inlet ports and higher compression ratio saw the engine gain a considerable 60 bhp to 510 bhp. The six-speed manual transmission saw a reduced final drive with the headlining 0-60 sprint taking just 4.3 seconds and the top speed, a heady 191mph.
Piloted by James Bond in the 2007 thriller Casino Royale, the DBS was introduced with three new colours, Lightning Silver, Casino Royale and Storm Black.
Please note, this vehicle is no longer for sale.
This example was supplied new by Broughtons Aston Martin of Cheltenham in November 2008 to its first keeper, Mr Williams, an avid and long-term ambassador of the marque. Despite a large and varied standard colour palette available, this DBS was optioned from new in Out-of-Range Pendle Black. Pendle Black appears much lighter than its name suggests, similar to that of Quantum silver without the murkier tones present in direct sunlight. Introduced as an option on DB7 in the 1990s, just 51 cars had left the factory in the shade up to 2020 and this example has been confirmed by the Aston Martin Heritage Registry to be the only DBS optioned as such.
Adding to its rarity, just 30 DBS’ were built in 2008 of which the majority were retained by the factory as demonstrators in both left and right hand drive. This example is 1 of 12 RHD examples completed and optioned with both the desirable manual gearbox and 2+0 seating configuration. This example is 1 of just 36 examples completed in a unique colour specification. The interior sees Obsidian Black leather with Obsidian Black Alcantara inserts.
This example has seen meticulous servicing my main dealers and specialists since new, at intervals of no greater than 5,000 miles. Most recently serviced in May 2024, this example presents superbly and presents as a fantastic opportunity to own an Aston Martin DBS in a unique colour with the desirable manual and 2+0 configuration.
This DBS today presents with just 30,600 miles from new and is available to view at our showrooms outside London immediately.
