Ferrari 355 Berlinetta (1997)

Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 1994, Ferrari’s new F355 was a marked step up from the outgoing 348. At its heart was a 3.5-litre V-8 engine boasting five valves per cylinder, leading its ‘355’ nomenclature, that was capable of producing 358 bhp at 8,250 rpm. This could propel the F355 to 60 mph from a standstill in just 4.6 seconds, leading onwards to a top speed of 185 mph. To drive, the F355 was both faster than the 348 that it replaced, but also easier to control at the limit, thanks to full underbody aerodynamics and a revised suspension with electronically controlled dampers. Three bodystyles were available; including two open cars, the F355 Spyder and the targa-topped F355 GTS, as well as the closed F355 Berlinetta, like the example offered here.

Supplied new by JCT600 Ltd of Bradford, this F355 Berlinetta stands apart from its peers as a two-owner example with just 20,470 miles from new. Optioned from new by Mr Brown of Cliveger, Lancashire in the stunning and rarely seen combination of Verde Zeltweg over Crema. Verde Zeltweg takes its name from the Austrian town of the same name is one of the darkest greens on Ferrari’s palette. This example was further optioned with a CD autochanger and a complete luggage set in matching Crema, as well as the rare and sought after 6-speed manual gearbox.

Mr Brown would own this F355 for 21 years, diligently servicing the car with supplying dealership, JCT600. Extensive MOT history supports the mileage with near year on year updates to the mileage log.

In 2018, this example was purchased by James Cottingham of DK Engineering as his personal 355, replacing a similarly optioned 355 Spider his mother and co-founder of DK had owned when new. Residing within the family since, servicing has been cared for exclusively by the team at DK and kept within in our storage facilities aside from sparing use.

As of January 2025, the 355 Berlinetta passes through our workshops once more. Receiving a major service including cambelts, this F355 is offered for sale for only the second time in 28 years. Today this F355 is accompanied by its complete Crema luggage set, spare key set plus red master fob, original book pack, history folio including original brochureware, price list and order form as well as a wealth of service invoices and MOTs.
