Ferrari Testarossa (1986)

The Ferrari Testarossa was first unveiled at the 1984 Paris Auto Show, quickly becoming the poster car of a generation. The design that would rival the Lamborghini Countach was a drastic change from the 512 BB that the car derived from.

Not only did Ferrari sway from the smooth lines seen on its prior, they also radically changed the engine from what was formally seen in the BB. It had four-valves per cylinder, Marelli electronic ignition, Bosch K-Jetronic fuel injection, and capable of producing 390 bhp from the 4943 cc horizontally opposed 12 cylinders. The 0 to 60 mph time was an impressive (even by today's standards) time of 5.3 seconds and top speed was over 180 mph. All versions of the Testarossa were rear wheel drive and had a rear-mounted, five-speed manual transmission.

The interior also benefited from significant upgrades, mainly revolving around a greater finish and more space for both passengers and luggage, to allow this V12 supercar to also be used on Grand Tours with upmost comfort.

This example offered for sale by DK Engineering is an original and early "Monospechio" and "Mono Dado" Testarossa, the collector's preference. This car was first delivered in 1986, and is presented in its original Rosso Corsa over a Nero Hide. Since being with DK the car has benefitted from a full major service including timing belts, a new tubistyle stainless sports exhaust, air-con updating and re-gassing, as well as both front and rear brake calipers being overhauled. Our master detailer has spent several days correcting the cars paint to a superb condition.

Today the car is presented in stunning condition and it is clear that this car has been well looked after from new having covered an indicated 25,400 Miles, this Testarossa is accompanied by its original tools and books, with full UK registration and is located in our showrooms just outside London and available to view immediately.
