This F1 is chassis number 012. It was delivered brand new to Japan to the first owner with whom it remained until 2011. The original owner was the Tag Heuer and Head importer for Japan. Amazingly he did not possess a driving license and as such the car remained with very low mileage and in exceptional condition during his ownership. It was often used for promotional purposes and was always in the livery of his business it was representing at the time. This would either be "Head" livery or "Tag Heuer" livery. For the majority of the cars life it has been presented in its "Tag Heuer" livery. This was removed in 2011. However, in 2013, when the car was purchased by DK Engineering, it was returned to its unique livery. The steering wheel also features a unique enamel emblem signifying its link to Tag Heuer.

When purchased in 2013 by DK Engineering the car had just 1,700 Kilometers (approx.) from new! It was UK road registered in October of that year.

Some of the detailed factory service history for the car is as follows:

F1/012 was Ex Works on 27th August 1994 being delivered to its first owner in Japan. The car was setup for Right Hand Drive (UK/Japan spec) and had a KMH dash fitted. F1/012 was painted in Platinum Dark Silver, a grey and black leather and lorica interior was specified with a red drivers seat insert. The pedals were in the middle position, steering wheel height was the lowest and reach was middle. The seat size was standard and clutch footrest position was middle. Most interestingly the body graphics were fitted at the factory and feature on the cars specification in its service book.

In February 1995 the car was flown back to McLaren and was re-specified as follows:
All pedals moved as close to driver as possible, Steering wheel raised to middle, Extended seat runners were fitted, Various updates to the car including gearbox, steering rack and door drop glass.

In September 2000 @ 1,032km the car received: 18 Month service and Fuel cell replacement at COX Incorporated in Japan. Audio system fault rectification.

In September 2006: The fuel cell was replaced and a minor service carried out at COX Incorporated in Japan. McLaren do not hold detailed records for this service, only records of supplying the parts.

In June 2010: McLaren visits car in Japan to fit COWS system (no service work involved)

In January 2013 (work completed March) the car returned to factory for a comprehensive service including new fuel tanks and tyres all round.

In February 2014 the car returned to McLaren for a check over and the installation of a full sports exhaust.

Later in 2014 the car was taken on the DK Engineering rally of Greece. The car behaved faultlessly and was driven over a few days.

Today the car remains with DK Engineering and has covered just 3,081 kms from new (1,900 miles). It is one of a handful of examples that remains in its original colour combination with its factory interior intact.

The car represents a unique opportunity, at the time of writing, to purchase a fully serviced, on the button, original colour combination McLaren F1 that is in the UK and UK road registered.
