Aston Martin Vantage 550 (1997)

The Aston Martin Vantage 550 was Aston's flagship model during the 1990's. With its twin-supercharged 5.3 litre V8 engine, the car was an incredibly fast and powerful Grand Tourer, which also boasted the traditional Aston Martin luxury and comfort. With a top speed of 186mph and a 0-60 time of just 4.5 seconds, the car had impressive performance figures and was at the time the fastest Aston Martin road car ever, despite weighing in at almost two tonnes. The V550 was manufactured from 1993 until 1999, during which time a mere 239 standard examples had been produced. A further 40 Le Mans Special Editions were produced in 1999 and 2000. The brakes on the V550 were substantial, with 362mm discs and 4 piston AP racing calipers fitted, which were, at the time, the largest fitted to any road car. The factory only built the V550 with a manual gearbox and the small number of automatics in existence were usually converted at Works Service.

This Right Hand Drive example was manufactured in September 1997, delivered to Stratstone of Wilmslow and is finished in Antrim Blue, complemented by a Pacific Blue and Parchment coloured leather interior. The standard Manual Transmission was converted to an Automatic when the car was new by Aston's own service department. In November 2015 the car had a major service at RS Williams, so is in fine mechanical order. The car is in excellent condition throughout and comes with all the extras one would expect including an Alpine CD stacker and electric, heated leather seats, amongst the usual swathes of leather and wood. The car has had just 5 owners from new and comes complete with the owner's manual, service book, indoor car cover and a spare key. This rare automatic version is certainly a collector's item and the style, comfort and performance offered is a truly superb mixture.
