Bentley Continental R Le Mans Series (2002)

The Bentley Continental R "Le Mans Series" was designed and sold in order to celebrate Bentley's return to Le Mans racing after a prolonged 71-year absence, having not been involved in the event since 1930. In 2003, the two Bentley Speed 8s took an incredible 1st and 2nd position at the Le Mans 24 hours, marking their return to the motorsport in style. The Continental R "Le Mans Series" is an extremely exclusive model, as only 46 were produced, having been developed from the Continental R Mulliner. When the Continental R was launched, it was met with a very favourable reception. It was styled using a wind tunnel and benefitted from CAD technology. The model has doors recessed into the roof and impressive performance with a top speed in excess of 150mph and a 0-60 time of less than 6 seconds. All of this achieved in the utmost comfort and luxury.

The exclusive "Le Mans Series" model incorporated the 6.75 litre engine from the Continental T along with a host of other features including Flared Wheel Arches, 18" Alloy Wheels, Red Brake Calipers, Quad Exhaust Outlet Pipes and a Sports Bumper Package on the outside. Inside, there are Drilled Control Pedals, a Push-to-Start Button, exclusive Sports Seats, a unique, Stacked Instrument Panel, a Dark Walnut Veneer, "Le Mans Series" Logos and Badges throughout, unique Treadplate Plaques and a special Chromed, Leather Gear Knob with an integrated Sports Button switch. There are other small touches, such as winged Bentley emblems embossed onto the front and rear head restraints that emphasise the fact that this exquisite Grand Tourer boasts uncompromised luxury and comfort.

This example is finished in Le Mans Racing Green and was delivered new to the USA. It is one of only 34 left hand drive examples and was completed in 2002, it has covered 26,000 miles from new. It arrived in the UK in early 2014 and comes complete with service book, UK registration, spare key and indoor car cover. Along with all the exclusive "Le Mans Series" extras listed above, the car also has extra Bentley luxury features, including Electric, Heated, Leather Seats, a Kenwood Sound System with Bluetooth Connectivity and "Le Mans Racing Green" Carpets. During its time in the USA, the car had just a single owner, a Chicago based Judge, meaning this car has had just 2 owners from new. The car was fully serviced in August of this year and had a new set of tyres fitted.
