When the 360 Modena was nearly four years old Ferrari wanted to homologate some improvements for their GTC racer and thus the 360 Challenge Stradale was introduced. The Challenge Stradale weighs in at just 20kg more than the Challenge and a staggering 110 Kg less than a standard Modena resulting in a dramatic performance increase. The Stradale features a host of aero and mechanical refinements that combine to make it 3.5 seconds faster around Fiorano than an ordinary Modena.
Modifications include, Carbon Ceramic brakes as standard, a 50% lighter multi axial carbon floor plan, a 25 BHP increase in power, aerodynamic tweaks allowing for up to 50% more vertical loading (including a different bumper, boot lid and sills as well as venturi ducts at the rear), carbon racing seats with 4 point harnesses, a stripped out interior with alcantara dash and carbon door cards as standard and an F1 gearbox with shift times of just 150 milliseconds to name but a few. A total of 1288 Challenge Stradales were produced.
This Challenge Stradale is presented in what many may consider to be the ultimate collector's specification, this example is presented in the Nero Daytona of which only 10% of cars produced with full Giallo and Charcoal Alcantara interior and the hugely rare and highly desirable Lexan sliding windows. These windows, of which approximately only 3% of cars were fitted with have become very desirable, not least because of their links to the Fabled F40, the "Godfather of Supercars"; very few Ferrari road cars ever produced have been fitted with these super iconic sliding windows. To the best of our knowledge and that of the CS register, this Challenge Stradale is totally unique in its specification. The stunning specification also includes a factory Challenge Stradale painted stripe, Nero Brake calipers, Giallo Rev Counter and stitching as well as factory trimmed Fire extinguisher and roll bar. The car is supplied in this stunning original specification and complete with 2 key sets, all original Ferrari books, tool kit and Tyre inflator.
One of the last cars built, this car was originally delivered in Dresden, Germany to the racing driver Ralph Neunteufel in September 2004, the car remained in Dresden with just 2 owners before imported to the UK in 2014. Throughout its life this example has been extremely well maintained and serviced by Ferrari main dealerships in Dresden and by ourselves in the UK with a recent full diagnostic check confirming the car is need of absolutely nothing, from new this exceptional Challenge Stradale has covered less than 7,000 miles and is presented in exceptional and fabulous condition. With its hugely collectible specification and low mileage this stunning Challenge Stradale represents a real opportunity to purchase one of the finest examples of what is already an appreciating classic, lightweight "homologation special" Ferrari.
