First announced on the 24th August 2004, the F430 signalled the arrival of a brand new generation of Ferrari 8-cylinder models. This new car took Ferrari's extraordinary achievements with aluminium technology, that begun with the 360 Modena, to a whole new level offering a series of extremely significant innovations directly derived from the Ferrari Formula 1 single-seaters.
Two of these innovations were world firsts for production cars being the electronic differential (E-Diff) and the steering wheel-mounted switch (better known to the Formula 1 Scuderia's drivers as "manettino"), which manages the integrated systems governing the vehicles dynamics. The F430 has a compact 4,300 cc 90° V8 engine, which punches out 490 hp to achieve a specific output of 114 hp/litre, also providing the Ferrari with a power to weight ratio of 2.8 kg/hp (dry weight); thus helping the 430 to achieve a most impressive 0-62 mph acceleration time of just 4 seconds and a top speed in excess of 196 mph.
Another particular advance made by the 430 was the aerodynamic design that embodied the very latest competition technologies, specifically the flat underbody and large rear diffuser to help increase downforce. The F430 Spider was debuted in Geneva and features Ferraris most advanced fabric folding roof to date. A huge amount of development on Ferrari's behalf ensured that the Spider retained the torsional rigidity of its berlinetta counterpart, and it showed. EVO magazine thought so fondly of the Spider that they commented "The question isn't why you would want the Spider version of the F430 but why you wouldn't." The Spider has everything that makes the berlinetta a great car but with the ability to hear the supreme V8 all the more clearly.
This rare and extremely desirable manual example is a very well equipped car with many very desirable optional extras. It was first delivered in July 2006 by HR Owen. It is presented in "Nero Daytona" with Black Leather "Daytona" Leather seats, roll hoops, dash, door cards and carpets. The fully electric "Daytona" style seats are finished with contrasting Rosso piping. The interior features an almost essential Carbon Driving Zone, a Carbon rimmed steering wheel, Carbon gear knob and the Rev Counter in Giallo. On the exterior the car has Rosso brake calipers, Xenon headlights and front and rear parking sensors.
The car has had just two owners from new and benefits form a recent DK Engineering service in May, the total mileage on this exceptional example is now just 11,500 miles.
