The 993 turbo was introduced in 1996 featuring full time four wheel drive for the first time on a production 911 Turbo. The 3.6-litre engine was fitted a pair of KKK K16 turbochargers and Bosch M5.2 engine management. Output was 408bhp at 5750rpm. Performance was explosive with a top speed of 184mph and 0-60 in just 4.5 seconds. Like all turbocharged 911's, this latest variant received heavily flared wheel arches and a static rear spoiler.
Unique to these cars, the body-coloured rear wings were fixed in place and housed the turbocharger intercoolers. For the 1997 model year, Porsche produced the most exclusive road going 993 of all and what became the last air-cooled 911 Turbo.
This example, chassis 372394, was first supplied as a UK car in August 1996 by Porsche Bournemouth. Presented in classic Ocean Blue with Marble Grey Leather many regard this combination as perfect for the 993 Turbo. The first owner kept the vehicle until October of the following year when the car passed on to its second owner who kept the vehicle for two years using it sparingly having its first service at 7,000 miles by Porsche Hatfield.
In 1999 the vehicle was purchased by its third, last and current owner who used the car sparingly only when he was in the UK (for approximately 2 to 3 weeks a year) meaning during its 14 year life the car has covered just 17,000 miles from new.Having had a major service at Fernsport (based at Silverstone and leading Porsche specialists) in October 2010 and a recent full detail this is one of the finest examples of a 993 turbo available which has been prepared and is ready to use and enjoy. A true opportunity to purchase one of these appreciating future classics with low mileage from new.
