Introduced for the 1967 model year, the 911S featured a comprehensive range of performance enhancements, including revised carburetion and camshafts to yield no less than 160hp from its 1991cc's, a remarkable specific output for the era. The S package also encompassed the chassis, with the first fitment of the now legendary Fuchs forged alloy wheels, ventilated brake discs, Koni shock absorbers, and enlarged anti-roll bar. The interior and exterior also received special treatment, in the form of leather rimmed steering wheel, basketweave dashboard trim, thicker deco strips, and special badging. 1968 models were substantially the same, but lost the delicate door handles and iconic green font gauges with chrome bezels that were unique to the 1967 and earlier 911s.

This particular example is one of the very first 911 S's, completed in December 1966 and delivered on the 3rd of January 1967, the car was finished in light Ivory, the interior in black leatherette with Pepita inlays. The car was promptly exported to South Africa to the Porsche dealer Alois Klesse, as his personal car. The car remained in South Africa until its recent purchase by DK Engineering. The previous owner purchased the car form the South African Porsche Specialist John Abbot who was also commissioned to carry out an engine rebuild in 1992, since when the car was used very infrequently. The car was repainted whilst in South Africa and is now finished in French blue. As a result of the dry South African climate this car has not fallen victim to heavy rust as so many unfortunately have. This example has its original "matching numbers" engine and is very sound, original, in good order and is now in the U.K and undergoing UK registration. It is not only a hugely usable, enjoyable and collectible early 911, but also an extremely rare one too.
