Named after Jaguar’s seven Le Mans victories, the Project 7 was initially unveiled as a single-seater concept car at Goodwood in 2013 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the victorious D-types of 1956/1957. Never intended for sale, the concept shown at Goodwood was at the time a one-off design study created by a team led by Director of Design at the time, Ian Callum.
The car was a showstopper for Jaguar, with enquiries for the car coming in thick and fast. Eventually, Jaguar allowed for 250 units to be produced by their newly re-launched arm, Special Vehicle Operations (SVO). With very little changes from the concept form, deliveries started in mid-2015.
Equipped with a potent 5-litre supercharged V8 producing 575 bhp, driving the rear wheels only, it was the brands most powerful F-TYPE to date and certainly their loudest also, one must add.
