Unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 1994, Ferrari’s new F355 was a marked step up from the outgoing 348. At its heart was a 3.5-litre V-8 engine boasting five valves per cylinder, leading its ‘355’ nomenclature, that was capable of producing 358 bhp at 8,250 rpm. This could propel the F355 to 60 mph from a standstill in just 4.6 seconds, leading onwards to a top speed of 185 mph. To drive, the F355 was both faster than the 348 that it replaced, but also easier to control at the limit, thanks to full underbody aerodynamics and a revised suspension with electronically controlled dampers. Three bodystyles were available; including two open cars, the F355 Spyder and the targa-topped F355 GTS, as well as the closed F355 Berlinetta, like the example offered here.
Built to RHD specifications, this specific F355 Berlinetta left the factory finished in Rosso Corsa over Nero leather seats with matching carpets and fitted with the desirable six-speed manual gearbox, just as you see it today. Delivered new via Maranello Sales, Egham to a gentleman residing in Kensington in December of 1995, it remained with him for until passing to the second owner in 2002. Having remained in the U.K. its entire life, it has enjoyed just six owners since 1995 and has covered just under 19,400 miles from new.
Known to DK Engineering through our servicing workshops since 2016, DK Engineering sold this F355 Berlinetta to its current custodian in the spring of 2018. At that time, a major service was undertaken at our facilities which included replacing the cambelts. More recently, in November of 2020, the car received an annual service. At the same time, the car’s battery was replaced, four new Pirelli tyres were fitted, and passed its MOT inspection. It has been driven less than 100 miles since (and less than 1,500 miles since the major service in 2018). Importantly, the car comes with a wonderful history file, chronicling its ownership and service history from day one, and includes previous service invoices, MOT records, and its original owners manuals including the original service book. The car is also accompanied by a tool kit and spare key.
Considered by many to be a modern classic, six-speed manual gearbox-equipped Berlinettas remain highly desirable for their purity of looks and the analogue driving experience which they provide. Ready to be driven and enjoyed by its next owner, this F355 Berlinetta is available for viewing at our showroom based just outside of London.
