The McLaren 720S was first unveiled at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show as the latest in the McLaren Super Series. The 720S outperforms each of its former counterparts and when compared to the competition it effortlessly conquers each and every one. Its performance is in fact more comparable to McLarens flagship model the McLaren P1, a truly remarkable feat.
Lauded when new for its fantastic driving position, all around vision and incredible performance, the 720S can cater for each and every occasion.
At Le Mans 24 hrs in 1995; one of the wettest occasions ever, the McLaren F1 GTR from the GT1 class took the overall win. To mark the 25th anniversary of the fact, McLaren have produced a limited run of just 50 ‘Le Mans’ edition 720S. Of that number, just 16 examples will remain in Europe and each car is very special indeed.
A number of revisions took place to differentiate the Le Mans from the standard car. Most notably, the wheels featured a revised 5-spoke design, in direct homage to the OZ racing wheels worn by 01R at Le Mans. The Le Mans features a fully-functional carbon fibre roof-mounted air intake, feeding directly into the engine bay from behind the driver’s head – much like that of the McLaren F1.
The brake callipers are painted in gold and the car receives a 25th anniversary emblem on the lower sills. The 720S Le Mans features the same two-tone livery as the Le Mans winner but the effect is much more subtle. The body painted in Sarthe Grey whilst the sills are painted in Ueno Grey. Certainly the more discreet of the two colours schemes available on this very limited edition when compared to the McLaren Orange alternative!
Included from the MSO options list are louvred front wings, as featured on the 765LT. This example benefits from the carbon fibre exterior upgrade, exterior door upper in carbon fibre, carbon fibre roof panels, upgraded sports exhaust, interior componentry in carbon fibre, parking sensors with rear parking camera and front-axle vehicle lifting system.
Presented here with just 18 miles from new and first registered on 21st January 2021, this 720S Le Mans is absolutely on the button as you would expect, supplied with its factory warranty and ready to be used and enjoyed by its next custodian.
