Ferrari 488 Spider (2018)

The Ferrari 488 GTB heralds the arrival of a new generation of 8-cylinder supercars that are fitted with turbochargers. Following on from the success of the 458, the 488 has been introduced and this new model benefits from numerous changes and improvements. The engine is mounted lower down and the addition of a turbocharger makes the engine leaner and more efficient, but also dramatically increases the performance. The new engine is smaller than its predecessor at 3.9 litres, but when the twin turbos spool up and kick into life, an impressive 661bhp is produced - making this more powerful than the legendary Ferrari Enzo. The car can reach a top speed of 205mph a 0-60mph time of 3 seconds means that it will keep up with almost anything on the road. The 488 also has a new generation of the Slide Slip Control, which will carefully firm up or soften the dampers. The brakes are from the LaFerrari and there is a dual-clutch 7-speed transmission regarded as one of the finest gearboxes on any car to date.

The 488 Spider was launched just after the coupe and offers a complete topless experience in just 14 seconds. Additional strengthening has been added to the chassis to counter any strength lost by the folding metal roof, the Spider weighs just 50kg more than a GTB.

This UK supplied, RHD Ferrari 488 Spider was supplied new to its first and only keeper in June 2018 by Graypaul Edinburgh. Optioned in the classical Rosso Corsa over Nero, this example has covered just 2,650 miles from new.

Fitted with a number of desirable options, this example sees both the Carbon Fibre Exterior Package and the Carbon Fibre Racing Package fitted to the car. Brake Callipers in Rosso behind Diamond-Cut 20’’ Forged Wheels with Carbon Fibre centre caps complete the look. Scuderia shields and the desirable Sports Exhaust is fitted.

Inside the car benefits from Nero leather with seat centre inserts and contrasting stitching in Rosso. The car receives a Carbon Fibre Driving Zone including the Carbon Fibre Steering Wheel with LED shift lights and the Carbon Fibre dashboard inserts and central tunnel. Cavallinos are embroidered on the headrests in Rosso and fitted floor mats feature the embroidered logo. The large central rev counter is finished in Giallo and the screen alongside displays the fitted Rear Parking Camera.
