'That was Eddie'
Silverstone delivered yet another throughouly exciting Grand Prix this weekend. In inclement and ever evolving conditions, Lando Norris claimed his maiden victory on British soil ahead of teammate Oscar Piastri. The people's highlight perhaps, is that after 239 starts, Nico Hulkenberg ended his podium drought by finishing 3rd for underdogs Stake-Sauber.
Throughout the weekend however, Formula One came together to honour team boss Eddie Jordan, who sadly passed away earlier in the year, aged 76. To pay tribute, a gathering of Jordan cars was assembled in the National Pits, exhibiting the team's lineage and journey from Formula Three to Formula One. As custodians of a fine example of a 191, Jordan's first Grand Prix car, DK Engineering were honoured to have been invited to contribute to the display. The car in question, chassis 191/6, was driven by Michael Schumacher at Spa throughout his debut weekend in 1991 and as such, it was elected as joint-centerpiece for a touching photoshoot, featuring former drivers, teammates and close associates of Eddie.
The ensemble consisted of drivers Damon Hill, Martin Donnelly, John Watson, Eddie Irvine, Martin Brundle, Johnny Herbert and Heinz-Harald Frentzen as well as designer Gary Anderson. DK team members Jordan and Alistair spoke with Mr Andseron and driver John Watson, who were both happy to share their fond memories of Eddie and the 191. An incredibly enjoyable weekend at yet another scintillating British Grand Prix. Once more, we were honoured to have been asked to display the 191 in what was an endearing tirbute to Jordan Grand Prix, and the man who kept its dream alive for 250 Formula One Grand Prix.
