The term "8C" originates from Alfa Romeo models built during the 1930's adopting Vittorio Jano's highly acclaimed eight cylinder engine. Victories at the Targo Florio, Italian Grand Prox and the 24 Hours of Le Mans would cement the 8C into the history books as one of Alfa Romeo's greatest cars desired not only by racing folk, but also Europe's most discerning collectors. Almost one century later the 8C was born again, first unveiled at the 2003 Frankfurt Auto Show. Its design taking inspiration from the famous Alfa race cars from the 50's through 60's, it quickly captivated the car world. The V8 derived from Alfa's Italian cousins Ferrari, was equally as awe inspiring and in the 2011 issue of Evo magazine the 8C Spider won the best sounding car.
